Welcome, we are the Scientific Computing group in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Durham.

What we do
Applied and computational mathematics are fundamental to modern science and engineering, sparking breakthroughs across virtually every discipline. At the Scientific Computing (SciComp) research group, we are dedicated to developing cutting-edge tools and software libraries that bring large-scale modeling, simulation, artificial intelligence and data analysis into everyday practice. Announcements
- Upcoming workshop. Software Development in C and C++ 2025: We will be running a two week workshop covering the basics of programming in C and C++ in September. This course is aimed at participants with no prior knowledge of C. The course is open to all (incoming) MISCADA MSc students of Durham University, Durham University staff, and members (RSEs, PhDs, PostDocs) from DiRAC.
