SciComp at Supercomputing 2025
A Landmark Week for UK HPC Collaboration in St. Louis at SC25

The SciComp team has returned from an inspiring and action-packed week at Supercomputing 2025 (SC25) in St. Louis.
Together with colleagues from the UKRI SHAREing Hub, and partner institutions including Durham University, UCL, The University of Manchester, University of Leeds, Imperial College London, and the University of Warwick, SciComp was represented at SC25.
A Week of Visibility and Collaboration
Throughout the week, our booth became a meeting point for researchers, industry partners, and international HPC centres. Visitors engaged with our work on scalable scientific computing, AI-HPC integration, advanced numerical methods, GPU-accelerated simulation, and training programmes designed to grow the next generation of computational scientists.
Members of SciComp took part in technical discussions, explored emerging HPC hardware trends, attended workshops on AI-enhanced workflows, and connected with teams building the future of exascale computing.
Strengthening the UK’s HPC Research Community
SC25 provided a powerful platform to highlight the collective strengths of the UK’s scientific computing ecosystem. Our presence alongside SHAREing partners showcased:
- Cross-university collaboration in HPC and AI
- Commitment to open, reproducible, high-performance scientific software
- National leadership in training and skills development
The conversations initiated during SC25 have already sparked new collaborative ideas, future project opportunities, and international links that will help shape SciComp’s trajectory over the coming years.
Looking Ahead
We extend our thanks to everyone who visited us, shared ideas, and contributed to the rich discussions throughout the week. SC25 reaffirmed the growing impact of SciComp’s work and strengthened our connections across the global HPC community.
We are already looking forward to building on this momentum at SC26!
